Driving change and innovation for the postal and parcel sector

Sustainability Leadership Imperative

The whole postal, parcel and logistics ecosystem, together with clients, consumers and stakeholders has a huge global ‘footprint’ with enormous impact on the world’s resources, energy and sustainability – so much so, that it has the potential to ‘lead the world’ with the impetus to leverage critical changes to business and individual behaviors, the carbon footprint and responsible utilization of scarce resources.

MOBILITY

The e-mobility transformation has become one of the key priorities for postal operators. While it is a key strategic pillar, postal operators face significant challenges. Addressing these challenges requires a holistic approach to ensure a smooth and successful transition to e-mobility in the postal industry.

Our mobility workshop with a special focus on linehaul related questions, insetting and other e-fleet management topics will bring together postal and parcel companies, industry experts, and others to discuss latest developments and best practice to navigate the mobility transformation.

Insetting & Offsetting

27 June 2023

(Re-)watch our virtual talk on Insetting & Offsetting now on our YouTube Channel

Being carbon neutral is a first important step to achieving a net-zero result. While the own operations might still produce CO2 emissions, entities can offset to become carbon neutral. While offsetting will contribute to projects aiming for climate action on a global level, insetting would have an impact on the own sector and/or partners.

Insetting strategies and measures are still at an early stage of research and implementation. Postal operators might identify several interesting use cases which could have a significantly higher impact on the operators’ sustainability strategy than offsetting measures.

In this online event, participants will share insights into their own projects and initiatives, possible use cases, eventual common strategies or measures, and will discuss how insetting can benefit the sector as a whole.

eMobility & Infrastructure

(Re-)watch our virtual sustainability talk on eMobility and Infrastructure of 7 March 2023 now on YouTube

To reduce CO2 emissions the fleet plays a crucial role. Many postal operators have embarked on a transformation strategy with ambitious goals to only use electric vehicles in the future. Beside this transformation, postal operators must address several challenges, including infrastructure and charging of EVs. Long term strategies in fleet transformation are key to a successful and sustainable transformation process. This particularly applies to the roll-out of an efficient and smart network of charging stations.

This online event will discuss fleet transformation strategies which entail fleet composition, necessary infrastructure, and the planning of a smart charging infrastructure.

Reusable Packaging and Circular Economy

(Re-)watch our virtual sustainability talk on Re-usable Packaging & Circular Economy of 23 March 2023 now on YouTube

Circular Economy has become an increasingly important field of testing and research, as it allows to reduce waste and resources. In addition, innovative forms of packaging and the materials used can considerably contribute to the reduction of waste and emissions. Reusable packaging is one of the cornerstones of circular economy strategies.

However, while there are already many solutions available on the market, choosing a solution is not easy. Several parameters must be taken into account, such as how often a packaging solution can be reused, what material it is made of, ease of integration of the solution in the postal network, consumer choices, as well as consumer behavior.

This online event will discuss the state of play of Circular Economy and packaging solution, products currently on the market with their respective USPs or possible drawbacks, use cases which show actionable results, and experiences which can be shared among the participants.
