Driving change and innovation for the postal and parcel sector

Postal and Parcel Trend Report 2024

The postal and parcel market is in a huge transformation process. Trends, new technologies, changes in consumer behaviour, or global events play a significant role in this process. The 2024 Postal and Parcel Trend Report shall help to shed light on some of the trends and technologies which are re-shaping the industry.

We wanted to identify

     1. the trends which play a crucial role,

     2. new technologies that promise opportunities but also pose risks,

     3. challenges which the market players are mostly concerned about, and

     4. investment priorities in this and the next few years.

Over the past three months we have conducted interviews with postal and parcel sector executives and experts, organised a series of online events in which we discussed trends and new technologies with industry leaders and experts, and conducted a survey to confirm our findings. In addition, we used several sources of secondary research to support the identification of industry trends.

PIP Cross-Border Report 2022/23

a PIP report for the parcel and postal market / published in June 2023

Cross-border eCommere volumes are still growing, more than ever before. However, the global postal network has lost in relevance and has been partly replaced by commercial channels.

For our 2022/2023 Cross-Border Report, we have interviewed three postal operators (La Poste Groupe, Correos Spain, and Austria Post) and asked them how they experience these changes. We have further invited several industry experts from Accenture, Escher Group, the International Mailers Advisory Group (IMAG), Zonos, MyDutyCollect, and USPS OIG to share with us their views on the market developments and how they see opportunities to best cope with the situation and (re-)capture market shares for the international postal network.

This year's report is a snapshot of the current situation of the cross-border parcel market, and our authors and interviewees provide valuable insights and recommendations.

Partnering with Government | report

Cooperation and partnership models with government entities can open new areas of activities and increase the post's turnover and profits.

This report discusses what the posts' USPs and advantages are, what kind of government services can potentially be outsourced to the postal operator, what we can learn from the posts that have already implemented a strategy to partner with their government and how a successful 'partnering with government' strategy can be implemented.
